Members of Agherton MU and the parish Knit & Natter group have had their needles clacking in support of two organisations working with orphans and children with life limiting illnesses in Romania.

Today, Monday February 20, the MU will welcome Shirley Moore who is going to talk to members about her work with Hospice Emanuel and Casa Grace Foundation in Romania.

At present, these organisations care for 90 orphans as well as 90 children with life limiting illnesses.

To support the valuable work of these charities and bring a little joy to the children in their care, the MU and Knit & Natter group have undertaken a joint project and have been knitting chicks (80 and counting) and ‘egg hats’ (90 and counting) which will each be filled with a cream egg and presented to the children.

They also have a number of knitted blankets and hats to donate.
