Ladies celebrate their 100th birthdays

Mrs Ella Licence with the Rev Jonny Campbell-Smyth and Bishop Alan Abernethy who visited to wish her a happy 100th birthday.

Three Indoor Members of Connor Mothers’ Union celebrated their 100th birthdays during October.

Norma Bell, All Ireland Indoor Member Contact, visiting Mrs Mamie Cassidy, an Indoor Member of St Hilda’s Mothers Union, on her 100th birthday.

Norma Bell, All Ireland Indoor Member Contacted visited Mrs Mamie Cassidy, a member of St. Hilda’s, while Diocesan President Valerie Ash visited Mrs Ella Licence, a member of Ballyclare/Ballynure Mothers’ union. 

Ella also received a visit from her former rector, Dean John Bond, the Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council and the Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev Alan Abernethy, along with her rector the Rev Jonny Campbell-Smyth.

Sadly one of the three centenarians, Mrs Lily McFaul, a member of St Patrick’s Coleraine branch, passed away at the end of the month and sympathy is extended to her family.

Lily had received a visit from the MU’s Evelyn Lewis and Jean MacDonald on her birthday. Bishop Alan sent Lily a special 100th birthday card as he was on leave on her big day.

Connor MU Diocesan President Valerie Ash paid a 100th birthday visit to Ella Licence.
