Bake-off forms part of informal Antrim service

Monday January 22nd 2018

The parish hall was packed for a family service run by All Saints’, Antrim.

All Saints’ Parish Church, Antrim, held an alternative format of service on Sunday January 21 – a family service aimed at all members of the family and the community of faith.

There were drinks and pastries before the service which took place in the parish centre.

The informal service included well known songs from the Thanks and Praise book, an interactive Bible reading about Jonah’s story, as well as a Great British (Antrim) Bake off between the curate and the Vicar!  The bake off demonstrated the need to follow instructions, paralleling the bake off talk with Jonah’s life which went better for him and the Ninevites once he followed God’s instructions.

Feedback indicated the service had a good mix of spirituality, liturgy, music and fun.

All Saints’ hopes to repeat this service in the future.
