Lauren inspired by Crossing Bridges theme

Friday May 25th 2018

The Rev Amanda Adams presents Lauen’s Crossing Bridges entry to CMSI’s Mission Resource Co-ordinator Rachel Brittain.

Crossing Bridges is the theme of Church Mission Society Ireland’s Lenten Project Competition, and the Rev Amanda Adams travelled to CMSI’s offices to hand in a very special entry.

This was an imaginative 3D picture inspired by the theme and created by Lauren Bond for the competition. Lauren is a member of Kildollagh Parish’s Sunday Club.

Lauren created a three dimensional bridge of hope to illustrate the importance of CMSI’s mission work in Egypt.

Amanda said: “It was a pleasure to deliver this and the other splendid entries from the children of the parish.  The benefit and enjoyment that the children derive from their participation in the Lenten Project is due to the dedication of a superb team of Sunday Club leaders who make excellent use of the materials provided by CMSI and really enthuse the children.”

The children in Kildollagh Parish, along with Ballyrashane Parish, are also actively involved in their CMSI Partnership Link with Ibba in South Sudan.  They have been fundraising, learning Zande and Lauren has even written to the Bishop in Ibba.

A team will be going out from the Grouped Parishes in October and will be bringing with them pictures created by the children to exchange with pictures being created by the children in Ibba.
