Theological Seminar hosted by Affirming Catholicism Ireland

October 21, 2017 @ 11:30 am - 4:30 pm

£20

The annual Theological Seminar hosted by Affirming Catholicism Ireland will take place on Saturday 21st October in CITI Dublin.  We are delighted to welcome as our speakers two people experienced in presenting the Christian message in a Secular Society.

The Rev Canon Ian Ellis served as editor of the Church of Ireland Gazette from 2001 to May 2017. During that time, he has been responsible for editorials which reflect the life of the Church in Ireland. Sectarianism, the Peace Process, terrorism on a worldwide scale, the rise of the extreme right in East and West and the controversies of child abuse and sexual orientation. All these issues have been raised in the Gazette while keeping an eye to the witness of the Church of Christ in the world.

Fr Brian Lennon is a Jesuit priest who lives in Armagh and works with prisoners, on peace issues and writing. He has written extensively on many subjects of secular interest, Drumcree, Charlie Hebdo, Child Abuse, Forgiveness and Reconciliation. He has contributed articles to the Irish Times ‘Rite and Reason’ column and to the website of ‘Jesuits in Ireland’.  Among his published works are: So You Can’t Forgive? Moving Towards Freedom (Apr 2017); Can I Stay in the Catholic Church   Nov 2011) and his latest book Does Christ Matter?  An Anglican and a Jesuit in Dialogue (Oct 2017
