The parish, was established in the early 1960s, is situated on the Belsize Road in North Lisburn and has in recent years enjoyed significant developments and growth.  Its vision statement is to be a ‘Church for the community that is centred on Christ.’

The priorities of the parish are: 

  • to grow spiritually through joyful discipleship;
  • to reach out to the local community;
  • to continue to develop our youth and family activities.

The parish is seeking to appoint a rector to:

  • build on the current ethos, atmosphere and style of worship;
  • enable the parish to achieve its next stage of development;
  • develop and encourage new and existing lay ministries;
  • work within the Connor Diocesan vision strategy.

The Parish of St John, Whitehouse, & St Ninian – Director of Music (Organist and Choir Master)

Whitehouse Parish is a union of St Ninian’s & St John’s. We are recruiting for a Director of Music for our church. We are primarily a traditional Church of Ireland and music is an integral part of the liturgical action.

Our Services are as follows:

  • Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each Month Morning Prayer on the second and third Sundays Family Service on the fourth Sunday.
  • The usual occasional evening services, with possible negotiation for the reintroduction of monthly Choral Evensong.

There is a robed choir and practices are currently on Wednesday evenings.

Because of the importance music plays in our worship we are looking for someone who can commit to training the choir and continuing the musical tradition of our parish.
