St Matthew’s holds Family Fun Night
St Matthew’s Parish Church, Shankill, held a Family Fun Night on Wednesday October 11 to celebrate Harvest. Around 60 people came along.
Launch of Holy Land Pilgrimage 2018
A publicity launch for a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land to be conducted by Canon David Humphries next year took place in the Parish of Kilbride on October 21.
Dedication of cross in memory of Dr Donald Davison
A beautiful new silver cross was dedicated in St John’s, Malone, on Sunday October 8 during the weekly Sung Eucharist in memory of the parish’s former organist, Dr Donald Davison.

Bishop wishes Margaret a happy 100th birthday
Derriaghy parishioner Mrs Margaret Benson celebrated her 100th birthday recently and a couple of days later received a visit from the Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev Alan Abernethy.
Round-up of Connor Diocesan Synod
Around 300 clergy and lay people from Connor Diocese came together in Carrickfergus Methodist Centre on Wednesday October 18 for the annual Connor Diocesan Synod.
Launch of latest book by Dr Alan Acheson
Dr Alan Acheson, a former member of General Synod for the Diocese of Connor, will launch his latest book on his 80th birthday, Saturday October 21, at Union Theological College, Belfast.
Bishop of Connor’s Presidential Address
In his Presidential Address to Synod, the Bishop of Connor the Rt Rev Alan Abernethy, spoke about his health shock, reorganisation of diocesan adminiatration, and the value of an inter-diocesan learning event he attended.
Foodbank benefits from Harvest at All Saints’ Church, Belfast
Sunday October 8 was annual Harvest Sunday in All Saints Church, Belfast, and this year the parish decided to include the South Belfast Foodbank as a major focus of its Harvest celebrations.
