This year is the 80th anniversary of the classic film ‘The Wizard of Oz.’

Belfast Cathedral will celebrate the 30^th year of the Cinemagic Film Festival with a special screening of The Wizard of Oz, coinciding with the classic film’s own 80^th anniversary, on October 30 at 7pm.

The 30^th Anniversary Cinemagic Festival features more than 30 days of unmissable opportunities for young audiences in Belfast and across Northern Ireland. The line-up includes Oscar-nominated Irish actress Saoirse Ronan and legendary actress Hayley Mills. The programme features over 100 public films and events, 30 industry workshops and masterclasses and 75 film education workshops.

The film programme will officially close with an 80^th anniversary screening of The Wizard of Oz in St Anne’s. This is screening as part of BFI Musicals! The Greatest Show on Screen, a UK-wide film season supported by National Lottery, BFI Film Audience Network and ICO.
