SUMMARY:Dunluce Parish Art and Photography Exhitibition
DESCRIPTION:Dunluce Parish’s annual art exhibition will take place in the Parish Centre in Priestland Road\, Bushmills\, from Friday May 3 to Monday May 6. \nNow in its 15th year\, the event has gone from strength to strength\, attracting artists and photographers from across Northern Ireland. \n“We are excited that we have more than 250 works to display this year\, with many of our favourite artists returning and quite a few new names joining us for the first time ” said coordinator Aileen Gault.   \nThe exhibition will showcase works by 68 talented artists and photographers from across Northern Ireland. Each piece is for sale\, at a range of prices with all commission on sales going to charity. Over the years\, the exhibition has raised many thousands of pounds for charity and this year proceeds will go to the Bishops’ Appeal Fund\, the Church of Ireland’s World Aid and Development Programme. \nThe exhibition will be opened on May 3 by Ross Wilson\, one of Ireland’s leading artists and sculptors\, with existing links to Bushmills. His collaboration with young people in the village led to the unveiling in 2004 of the ‘Alphabet Angel’ sculpture\, which celebrates the Ulster-Scots language. \nWith so many artworks on display\, there is sure to be something to appeal to everyone – and after viewing the art\, visitors are invited to the ‘Drawing Room’ café where they are welcome to relax and catch up with friends over tea\, coffee and homemade treats. There is also the opportunity to win a painting by a local artist in the raffle to be held on the final day.
