DESCRIPTION:The Rev Amanda Adams will be installed as a Canon in the Chapter of St Saviour\, Christ Church Cathedral\, Lisburn\, at a service on Sunday December 3 at 7pm. \nAmanda\, who is rector of the Grouped Parishes of Ballyrashane and Kildollagh\, will be installed in the Cathedral Chapter as Prebendary of Connor. \nAt the same service\, the Rev Canon Peter Galbraith will move from the Prebendary of Connor to be Treasurer; the Rev Canon William Taggart will move from Treasurer to be Precentor; and the Rev Canon James Carson will move from Precentor to the vacant seat of Chancellor. \nCanon Adams joins the Chapter following the retirement of former Chancellor\, the Rev Canon George Graham. \nThe preacher at the service will be the Rev Canon James Carson.

SUMMARY:Light Up The Night - An occasion to remember
DESCRIPTION:Cruse Bereavement Support and Funeral Partners NI are holding a special candlelit Service in St Anne’s Cathedral in memory of loved ones on Sunday December 10. \nFrom 1pm\, the Cathedral will be open to give opportunity to place a token in memory of a loved one\, on one of the Remembrance Trees\, standing in the side aisles . These trees will remain in the Cathedral for the whole of period leading up to Christmas Day. \nThen at 3.30pm\, the service ‘An Occasion to Remember’ provides an opportunity for remembering those no longer with us. The service will feature beautiful music from the Cathedral Choir and a solo harpist\, along with readings\, poetry and silence in the candlelight. Prayers will be led by representatives from across the traditions. \nEveryone who has lost someone special\, particularly during the restrictions of the Covid pandemic is most welcome to this special event. \nThose planning to attend the service from 3.30pm are asked to register online to ensure sufficient seating.
