SUMMARY:Saying Goodbye baby loss remembrance service POSTPONED
DESCRIPTION:POSTPONED UNTIL NOVEMBER 15 2026 AT 2PM\n \nSaying Goodbye\, part of Mariposa International\, is returning to Belfast with a very special baby loss remembrance and support service on Sunday June 14. \nThis is part of a series of services held across UK\, Ireland and the USA.  Mariposa International’s core objective is to support people who have lost babies at any stage of pregnancy\, at birth\, or in infancy. \nThe organisation was founded in 2012 by Zoe and Andy Clark-Coates who saw a critical lack of support for people who\, like them\, had gone through baby loss. With more 258\,000 babies being lost yearly in the UK alone\, the charity needed to be able to offer not only a comprehensive package of befriending and support but also national baby loss remembrance services – called Saying Goodbye Services – for people to join together and remember the children they had lost.  \nFourteen years on\, more than 250 services have taken place at Cathedrals and Minsters across the UK\, US\, and France\, and 2026 will see 20+ services being held.  \nThe service on June 14 will be held in St Anne’s Cathedral\, Belfast\, at 3.30pm. \nThis service is for anyone who has either personally lost a baby at any stage of pregnancy\, at birth\, or in early years\, or who has been affected by family members’ or friends’ loss.  Whether the loss was recent or 80 years ago\, everyone is welcome to attend. \nThe services have been extended to welcome anyone who is grieving the fact that they haven’t had children. This may be due to circumstance\, infertility\, or for other reasons – but all are welcome. Babies and children are also invited to come with their families\, as the Saying Goodbye service is a family event for all.  \nTo read more on the charity\, please visit the Saying Goodbye website.

SUMMARY:God at Work in Nepal - a Global Mission Night
DESCRIPTION:Kapil Sharma\, Executive Director of HDCS\, Nepal\, will be in St Brigid’s\, Glengormley\, on June 29 to speak about the mission and development work his organisation is pioneering in Nepal.  \nThe country is famous for its mountain ranges\, friendly people and rich cultural history\, but it is also striving to overcome some immense social welfare needs. HDCS is at the forefront of this struggle\, running schools\, hospitals and community radio stations delivering its vision to be a living witness of God’s love and to transform communities – LEARN MORE. \nThe Rev Jacob Mercer\, rector of St Brigid’s\, visited Nepal last year\, meeting Kapil and his team\, and seeing for himself some of the projects HDCS runs\, including the ABBS school for children with special educational needs in Kathmandu\, and the Namuna Community Hospital\, Lamjung. His visit was reported in detail in the Spring issue of Connor Connections. \nJacob is hosting a return visit from Kapil\, facilitated by CMS Ireland. During this\, Kapil will spend four days in the parish and share his story at this special Global Mission Night on June 29\, with the event starting at 7.30pm.  \nJacob said: “Nepal is a beautiful country with a beautiful church. I was so moved and inspired by all the practical ways Nepali Christians serve their community. \n“I am very pleased that Kapil is now coming to us. His message is bound to inspire and impact those who come.” \nThe event is open to all. Refreshments will be provided. \nFor more information please contact: Roger Thompson (CMSI Partnership Coordinator for Nepal)\, on 028 9077 5020 or by email: rogerthompson@cmsireland.org.
