Major Conference for Children’s Ministry

Friday September 15th 2006

Building Blocks, a conference for anyone involved in ministry with children, takes place at two venues in Ireland during November.

The conference is aimed at Sunday School teachers, children’s club leaders or anyone ordained or teach children in school.

A Northern conference will be held at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown, on Saturday November 18 and the southern event will take place at St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra, Dublin on Saturday November 25.

Building Blocks follows the success of the National Children’s Ministry Conference over the last three years, and is being planned by representatives from the main Christian churches in Belfast and Dublin. The Church of Ireland is represented by Rev Ian Ellis in Belfast and Heather Wilkinson, Helen Groves and Rev Anne Taylor in Dublin.

The keynote speaker is Marlene LeFever, Director of Educational Ministries for Cook Communications, based in Colorado. Marlene has a wide experience in children’s ministry and is involved in consultations and training of children’s workers across the globe.

There will be a wide variety of seminars on topics such as leading an under fives’ ministry, school assemblies, helping children with special needs, children and worship, arts and crafts, help for first time leaders, using games to teach the Bible, and more.
