Engage Connor Youth seeks to share the stories of young people developing in their faith across the Diocese and bring together young people and leaders for a range of events. Engage Connor Youth, the youth council for the Diocese of Connor, was launched in 2014 with the support of the Diocesan Development Team.
The Connor Youth Council team comprises: the Rev Philip Benson from Parish of Larne and Inver with Glynn & Raloo (Youth Council Chair); Aimee Gibson from Lambeg Parish; the Rev Aaron McAlister from Parish of Derriaghy; the Rev Lynne Gibson from Parish of Ballymacash; Heather Carson from Parish of St Michael’s and St Stephen’s; Lesley Donaldson from Church of the Resurrection/The Hub; Christina Baillie, Diocesan Youth Officer, and Stephen Whitten from Church Army.
At a time when young people have been deprived of even time spent with friends at school, Connor Youth Officer Christina Bailie and the youth council have been prolific in producing resources to support them, reduce their isolation, and help them stay connected with their Church.
Annual youth events, including Summer Madness, Streetreach and Connor Takes the Castle, remain suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but Engage Connor Youth continues to organise online events to connect and engage young people.
