Glenavy Parish – Children’s and Families’ Worker 

The Parish of Glenavy is looking for a Children’s and Families Worker to build on the strategic work of our previous staff member over an eight year period.

This is a great opportunity to move on from your experience as an assistant leader to taking the lead yourself and shaping our ministry to children, under the supervision of the vicar.

Starting at 25 hours per week on a three year contract, the hours may be increased after a six month review. 

You need an OCN2 or equivalent qualification in youth or children’s work, and two years’ experience in ministry to children.

 Our pay-scale follows the JNC Youth & Community Support Worker scale, (from a base of £16,430 p.a. (pro rata), to reflect your experience.

You must be willing to work within the ethos of the Church of Ireland, and your work will entail irregular hours, some at weekends. 

We regret we cannot provide  accommodation, so a car is essential.

The United Parish of Christ Church & St John’s (Ballyclare) – Families, Youth and Children’s Associate

The Parish of St John, Whitehouse, & St Ninian – Director of Music (Organist and Choir Master)

Whitehouse Parish is a union of St Ninian’s & St John’s. We are recruiting for a Director of Music for our church. We are primarily a traditional Church of Ireland and music is an integral part of the liturgical action.

Our Services are as follows:

  • Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each Month Morning Prayer on the second and third Sundays Family Service on the fourth Sunday.
  • The usual occasional evening services, with possible negotiation for the reintroduction of monthly Choral Evensong.

There is a robed choir and practices are currently on Wednesday evenings.

Because of the importance music plays in our worship we are looking for someone who can commit to training the choir and continuing the musical tradition of our parish.
