Hard hitting issues will be under discussion at the next Hard Gospel Beyond the Box seminar which takes place in Belvoir Parish Church on March 6.
Theme of the seminar is Mirror Mirror on the Wall, and it raises questions about what we see when we look at ourselves in the mirror and what other people see when they look at us.
Beyond the Box seminars are public events which aim to promote new thinking and energetic open debate on key issues.
The Hard Gospel Project is asking two former members of the Church of Ireland to hold up a mirror to the church. Brendan McCarthy is a former rector of Omagh who now leads a community church in the town, and Michael Wardlow is Chief Executive of the Northern Ireland Council for Integrated Education.
Issues to be addressed include what the Church of Ireland needs to do to be a truly effective witness in Northern Ireland today; how it should ‘do’ church, and what do people see when they look at the Church of Ireland.
The seminar takes place in Belvoir Parish Church, Belfast, at 8pm on Tuesday March 6. Admission is free and all are welcome.
