General Secretary of Evangelical Alliance speaks in Lisburn

The Rev Canon Joel Edwards, General Secretary of Evangelical Alliance in the UK, was the guest preacher at a united service in Christ Church Parish, Lisburn on Sunday March 18. 

Organised by the Lisburn City Centre Ministers’ Fellowship, the service was hosted by Steve Cave, Northern Ireland Director of the Evangelical Alliance.
 
The Rev Paul Dundas, rector of Christ Church, gave the call to worship and welcomed visitors from many of Lisburn’s churches and extended a special welcome to his guests Joel Edwards and Steve Cave.  A worship group from Seymour Street Methodist Church led the praise and Pastor George Hilary, Lisburn Christian Fellowship, offered the closing prayer.

Following the service refreshments were served in the church hall.

Joel Edwards has held the position of General Secretary of EAUK since 1997 and also serves on a number of faith, government and public agency advisory groups.  He is an ordained minister in one of the UK’s major Caribbean denominations and an honorary Canon of St Paul’s Cathedral.  He is passionate about unity within the church, but unity with a purpose – to see real change for real lives and real communities.
