Picnic and Prayer part of global event

Friday May 18th 2007

Lisburn City Centre Ministers’ Fellowship is hosting a ‘Pentecost Picnic and Prayer’ on Sunday May 27 as part of a Global Day of Prayer.

The event takes place from 1pm until 3.15pm in Wallace Park, Lisburn, or in Seymour St. Methodist Church if the weather is wet.

During the picnic, which begins at 1pm (bring your own lunch), there will be music and a presentation geared for children.  The Mayor will welcome everyone at 2pm and participants will join together in prayers for our nation and world led by local church leaders with seven prayers of worship; thanksgiving; for the nations; needy people in our world, against evil; finishing with prayers of worship and praise.  Each prayer will be followed by a suitable interpretation or response.

This is one of a number of similar events taking place in Northern Ireland and world-wide.  Further details can be found at www.globaldayofprayer.com or, for Ireland, at www.transformations-ireland.org.
