Rosemary Burnside who swam the equivalent of the English Channel to raise funds.Well done to five ladies from Connor Mothers’ Union went the extra mile – literally – to raise funds for MU projects.

Rosemary Burnside, diocesan treasurer, swam the equivalent of the English Channel to raise £1,000 for the MU Literacy and Development Programme.  This was an incredible 1,500 lengths of the Grove Swimming Pool – and Rosemary has the certificate to prove it!

Connor vice chairman, Kathleen Rodgers and her team, Cynthia Cherry, Grace McCabe and Ruth McKeegan, took part in the Belfast Marathon for the third consecutive year.

The team walked the nine mile course and the monies raised will be divided between the Literacy and Development Programme and the MU’s 35 soup kitchens in Cape Town, South Africa.
