Tuesday February 26th 2008

Paul WoodmanMagheragall Parish Church is hosting nine days of Christian outreach entitled ‘Rise & Shine,’ beginning on March 1.

The mission continues until Sunday March 9.  The title was taken from Isaiah 60:1 “Arise, Jerusalem, and shine like the sun; the glory of the Lord is shining on you,” and the programme is designed to share the good news of Jesus Christ within the church family and throughout the community.

In preparation for ‘Rise & Shine,’ and to enable the sharing of faith naturally, 16 adults from Magheragall participated in the Lost for Words Course by Church Pastoral Aid Society (CPAS) led by Paul Hoey and Marion Wilcox.

The Mission team for ‘Rise & Shine’ comprises Roger Murphy, a Church Army Captain who lives in Warwick, England; the Rev Paul Hoey, former rector of Ballinamallard who now works for the CPAS, and Paul Woodman, a leader in City Life Church, Southampton, who presents the Christian message using escapology and illusions.

Paul HoeyFirst event in the programme on the evening of March 1 is a fun for all with supper. Other events over the week include a Girls Nite in; Can’t Cook, Won’t Cook; Teddy Bears’ Picnic; Lads and Dads Nite In; a Spring Dander; a Salsa Night; a Kids’ Club and a couples’ night out.
