St Bartholomew’s Parish Chruch, Stranmillis Road, Belfast, is running a series of lunchtime lectures beginning on Tuesday April 8.
The topic of the first lecture is Behind Dawkins and The God Delusion. Speaker is Professor Stephen Williams (Union Theological College, Belfast)
The second lecture, on Tuesday May 6 is on The importance of being ignorant: how not to let bad models of human knowledge come between us and God. Speaker is Professor Roddy Cowie (Dept. of Psychology, QUB)
On Tuesday September 9, the Rev Dr Ron Elsdon, rector of St Bartholomew’s, will lecture on the topic: Rescuing Genesis from the Creationists: the real story of creation
The final lecture takes place on Tuesday Nobember 4 and is entitled Keeping religion out of politics: Reflections on the American experience. Speaker isDoug Smith (Director, Youth Initiative).
All lectures begin at 1.10pm and finish at 1.55pm and all are welcome.
