A Columbian pastor, who has been working for more than 20 years in Cali, one of the world's biggest drug centres, will be speaking at a number of churches in Belfast.
Pastor Hendrick Hoere will be at St George’s Church in High Street at 1pm on Monday, May 19 and at 8pm that evening in St Anne’s Cathedral. On Tuesday, 20 May at 8pm he will speak in St Finnian’s Church, Cregagh.
Columbia is well-known for drugs and violence. In 2001 alone, 40,000 people were killed. In the city of Cali 18,000 people were killed in a 10-year period. Yet alongside that violence is a vibrant spiritual movement. People are very open to and hungry for things spiritual. This was witnessed by a group from Divine Healing Ministries, led by Brother David Jardine, which travelled to Colombia earlier this year.
Pastor Hendrick will speak on the theme, ‘Great faith in the midst of violence’. The three services are healing services, so personal prayer for healing and anointing with oil will be offered.
For a few years Hendrick has had a close relationship with West Church Presbyterian Church in Bangor so the worship in St Anne’s Cathedral will be led by two members of that congregation, Paul and Beulah Shields.
There is a warm welcome at all of these services.
