AIDS initiative aimed at children
On August 27 the Church of Ireland launched an initiative ‘Let’s Go Tackle AIDS,’ aimed at helping children better understand the AIDS epidemic.
In addition, the project will seek to raise funds to assist people in Africa affected by HIV.
The launch took place at the Diocesan Centre in Londonderry, where the special guest was Tendai Madondo, who works with the Dublin office of Christian Aid.
Tendai has more than 10 years’ experience with HIV and gender issues in Africa and Europe. A workshop was presented to help Sunday school teachers learn how best to present the issues surrounding HIV and AIDS to children.
