The Rt Rev Trevor Williams was installed and enthroned as Bishop of Limerick on Sunday September 14 in St Mary’s Cathedral, Limerick.
Bishop Williams will then be installed and enthroned Bishop of Killaloe in St Flannan’s Cathedral, Killaloe on Friday September 19 at 8pm.
The new Bishop was formerly rector of Holy Trinity and St Silas with Immanuel, Ardoyne, Belfast, in the Diocese of Connor.
The Installation and Enthronement in St Mary’s Cathedral was led by the Dean of Limerick and Ardfert, the Very Revd Maurice Sirr and the address was given by Bishop Williams. The service was followed by a Mayoral Reception at Limerick City Hall, hosted by the Mayor of Limerick, Councillor John Gilligan, to which the congregation was invited.
The Installation and Enthronment in Killaloe will be a service of Evening Prayer led by the Dean of Killaloe and Clonfert, the Very Revd Stephen White. The address will again be given by Bishop Williams.
Bishop Williams succeeds as Bishop of Limerick and Killaloe the Rt Revd Michael Mayes who has retired. Bishop Williams’ Episcopal Ordination and Consecration took place in Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin on July 11.
