The Mothers’ Union in Connor Diocese has just published the sixth edition of the very successful student cookbook ‘Curry in a Hurry….and lots more’.
This edition has been completely revised with new sections, new recipes and a brand new look. Designed as a helping hand to first year students living away from home for the first time, the book contains easy, cheap, nutritional recipes, handy hints and tips, helplines and interdenominational prayers.
Over the past six years, more than 33,000 copies have been distributed at Queen’s University, Belfast, and at the University of Ulster at both Coleraine and Jordanstown, as well as at some further education colleges.
This year 2,500 were included in the welcome packs at University of Ulster at Coleraine and Jordanstown during Freshers’ Week. MU members also attended the Student Bazaar at Queen’s, working alongside the Student’s Union to distribute another 1,500 to first year students.
Typical comments were ‘brilliant;’ ‘just what I need’ and ‘beats a Pot Noodle!’ Additional copies have also been given to University Chaplains.
If you know a young person going off to university outside Northern Ireland, and would like a copy for them, please contact the MU at the following numbers: Alison Skillen on 028 90629764 or Liz Egerton on 028 92663326.
