Evening of Christmas music in Broughshane

Musician Sam Law will play at Sacred Sounds in Broughshane.Sounds Sacred, an evening of Christmas music, will be held in St Patrick’s Church, Broughshane, on Sunday December 14 at 6pm.
 
This special evening will feature Robert Farren who at the age of 82 is still in demand as an organist and music teacher, and Sam Law, Northern Ireland Musician of the Year in 2006.

Robert was recently honoured for his contribution to music at a civic reception hosted by the Mayor of Ballymena, Councillor Maurice Mills.
 
Sam who is originally from Hong Kong, is a pupil of Ballymena Academy and a regular broadcaster on B.B.C.
 
Among the talented musicians performing on the night are John O’Donnell, Northern Irealnd Junior Young Musician of the Year 2008 as well as Hugh and Anne O’Donnell, both pupils of Robert Farren and very talented young people.
 
Claire Hayes is working for Grade 8 in piano and is also one of Robert’s pupils, and Patricia McNeill, soprano, is a close friend of Robert and well known in music circles through N.I.
 
The offering at this special service will be on behalf of Mongo School in the Diocese of Yei, southern Sudan, and St Patrick’s Building Fund. The service will be conducted by the Dean of Connor the Very Rev Dean John Bond, and the Rev John McClure.
