The last 25 of these years have been as organist and choirmaster of St Patrick’s.

Mr Capper’s career as an organist began in Lisburn Road Methodist Church and he has also served in Ballysillan Presbyterian; Osbourne Park Methodist; Jennymount Methodist (all in Belfast); St Mark’s, Armagh; and St Columba’s, Omagh.

The evening took the form of a special service of music, selected by Mr Capper himself, followed by light refreshments in the church hall, where the presentation was made.
