Bart Players present ‘Born in the Gardens’

Wednesday February 11th 2009

Bart Players will present ‘Born in the Gardens’ by Peter Nichols in the St Bartholomew’s Church Halls, Stranmillis, nightly from March 5-7.

The play is set in Bristol 1979, on the eve of Maud's husband's funeral. She and Maurice, her 45-year-old stay at home son, await the arrival of the other two members of the family, Hedley, a Labour MP and Queenie, Maurice's twin sister, now a journalist in California. There is also Elsie the cat?

‘Born in the Gardens’ is an affectionate picture of middle class English eccentricity on the face of it!

Performances take place in the Canon Lindsay Hall (St Bartholomew's Church Halls), 183 Stranmillis Road, Belfast at 8pm on Thursday March 5, Friday March 6 and Saturday March 7.

Tickets are £8, block bookings and concessions by arrangement. Download a booking form. Tickets can also be purchased by contacting Clem Bell at 028 90202280 and at David Gotto (Allsports) Stranmillis Road, Belfast.
