Connor Diocesan Synod
The 2009 Synod of the Diocese of Connor takes place in St Brigid’s Parish Church, Glengormley, on Wednesday June 17.
The business of the Synod will begin at 6.30pm. Prior to that, Synod Members are invited to a Service of Holy Communion at 4.30pm. Arrival and registration is at 4pm, and there will be an evening meal at 5.30pm.
Synod will be addressed by the President, the Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev Alan Abernethy, and reports from Diocesan Council and various committees and boards will be considered and discussed.
There are two Notices of Motion. The first proposes Diocesan Council conducts an in-depth review of Commissioned Lay Ministry, which has reached the conclusion of its experimental period. The second relates to a revision of the Constitution of Connor Diocesan Council for Mission.
Synod is expected to be attended by around 350 members from all over Connor Diocese.
