Hand washing advice

Friday June 26th 2009

Chaplains, clergy and anyone visiting people in hospital have been urged to be extra vigilant about hand washing.

Carolyn Kerr, Deputy Director of Nursing with the Northern Health and Social Care Trust, has asked that all hospital chaplains and visiting clergy remember to ensure that hand gel is used before and after visiting patients in wards. She stressed that this is especially important when moving between patients.

The Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev Alan Abernethy, said this was good advice for anyone visiting a patient in hospital.
