Voices of Life, a choir comprising 17 teenagers from Uganda, will perform a series of concerts across Ireland, including several in the Diocese of Connor, during September.
The choir members, under the auspices of ‘Fields of Life,’ use drums, songs and visuals to speak of their faith.
The young people aged from 12 to 15 are from four different schools in Uganda, and live in some of the worst areas of poverty and deprivation in East Africa. They are in Northern Ireland to say thank you to those who have made donations through the Fields of Life charity, for their schools and education in Uganda and neighbouring Burundi.
They will be performing in the following local churches: St Patrick’s, Coleraine on September 2, at 7.30pm; Holy Trinity, Carrickfergus on September 6 at 7.30pm; Glenavy Parish Church on September 11 at 7.30pm; Christchurch, Lisburn, on September 12 at 7pm; Drumaul Parish Church, Randalstown on Sunday September 13 at 11.30am; Killead Presbyterian Church on September 21 at 7.30pm and Drumreagh Presbyterian, Ballymoney on September 23 at 7.30pm.
