As an extensive repair programme at St Patrick’s Church, Glenarm, reaches it final stage, the Fundraising Team is delighted to announce that a very special concert will be held in the church on September 18.
Through the auspices of Larne Concert Choir, Glenarm will be the venue for a concert featuring both the Concert Choir and special guests the Morrison Phoenix Male Choir from Wales.
The choir is making a flying visit to Northern Ireland and will be singing in only two venues, and the fundraising team is delighted that Glenarm has been chosen as one.
The Morrison Phoenix Male Choir’s Musical Director is a very talented lady, Sian Pearce, and she has included many favourite traditional Welsh pieces in its repertoire, such as Myfanwy, Cwm Rhondda and Gwahoddiad.
However the programme has also been extended for those who prefer a more up-to-date approach, and Sian introduces modern arrangements, involving the music of Robbie Williams, Queen, Take That, Westlife, and their very own famous local composer, Karl Jenkins.
There will be something to suit most musical tastes – so please make a note in your diary and do not miss the chance to enjoy a wonderful night of singing.
The Concert starts at 8pm on Friday September 18 in St Patrick’s Church, Glenarm. Tickets are £5, and are available from the Tourist Office, Larne; Glenarm Post Office, from any member of the Select vestry, or contact Ann Tinsley on 078 55019054.
