The October issue of the diocesan magazine Connor Connections is now available free to all parishioners.
There is a strong sense of mission running through this issue, with articles on a variety of mission trips abroad, including the Bishop of Connor’s visit to Kajiado during the summer and a trip to the same diocese by 25 members of St Paul’s, Lisburn.
The magazine also features the Connor and Down & Dromore Organ Scholarship which provides a wonderful opportunity for a talented pianist to learn to play the organ in our parishes.
Mr Neill Wilson, who will retire after 35 years as Diocesan Secretary for both Connor and Down & Dromore at the end of December, reflects on his time with the Church of Ireland, the Bishops he has served, and the people he has worked with.
There are also articles on Age Concern Help the Aged NI and the services they provide for older people, a visit to the youth event hosted by Fusion at Lisburn Cathedral, and some thoughts from Gran Cariaria penned by Brian Lacey, a student reader at St Thomas’s, Belfast, who spent several weeks in ministry on the holiday island as part of his training at the Theological Institute, Dublin.
You can also read about the sponsored walk undertaken by the members of the Chapter of St Saviour, Connor, in support of Mongo School, Yei, and to mark the chapter’s 400th anniversary, and there is a look back at Diocesan Synod in June. All this and much more…!
Connor Connections is available from your rector. Anyone requiring additional copies should contact the Diocesan Communications Officer on dco@connor.anglican.org or call 07766 103880.
