Making a difference on Jeans for Genes Day

Friday September 24th 2010

Staff in Church of Ireland House, Belfast, will once again be dressing down for a day in support of the Jeans for Genes campaign.

Friday October 1 marks the 15th anniversary of Jeans for Genes Day and by donning their denims, Church House staff will help improve life for children with genetic disorders

Individually, genetic disorders are rare but together they affect one in 25 children born in the UK – that’s more than 30,000 babies each year.  Their associated health problems mean that genetic disorders are the biggest killer of children aged 14 years and under

Jeans for Genes provides funding for the care and support of children with genetic disorders.  They also help fund research into genetics and the development of effective treatments and cures.

Even if you are not wearing your jeans on October 1, please support those who are by making a donation of just £2 and help change a child’s life.

Further information can be obtained on the Jeans for Genes Website www.jeansforgenes.com.
