Sudan is focus of Sunday Sequence interview

CMSI’s David Gough, a member of the Church of Ireland Sudan Partnership Group, was interviewed by William Crawley on BBC Radio Ulster’s Sunday Sequence on December 19.

David Gough, CMSI, speaking at a meeting of the Church of Ireland Sudan Partnership and Irish Government Foreign Affairs officials.David, who is a regular visitor to Sudan and was most recently there in November, spoke about the concerns of the partnership group and the Episcopal Church of Sudan as the country prepares for a referendum on independence on January 9.

CMS Ireland has been supporting the Episcopal Church of Sudan since the mid 1970s through prayer, finance and sending personnel.  The organisation has organised A Day of Prayer for Sudan in its Belfast office on Friday January 7.

This week the Archbishop of Armagh, the Most Rev Alan Harper OBE, called upon all parishes within the Church of Ireland to pray for Sudan on Sunday January 2, a week ahead of the referendum.
