An introduction/refresher course for Pastoral Visitors will be held in St Colman’s Parochial Hall, Kingsway, Dunmurry over five weeks beginning on February 1.
The course will address some of the common questions and comments around Pastoral Visiting which include what pastoral visiting actually is, how much time it will take up, who benefits and what support is available.
The course will also enable parish pastoral visitors to be more confident about their role.
The sessions will be led by the Rev Don Gamble (Chaplain at the City Hospital) and Eileen Mc Keag, a professional counsellor.
The Rev Denise Acheson, rector of St Colman’s, said: “The Church is called to go out among the people. Pastoral Visiting is one of the many ways we can do just that. Be part of it!"
Anyone wishing to attend should advise their rector. The first session takes place from 8pm until 9.30pm on Tuesday February 1. Download a leaflet here.
