Pilgrims visit sites in Galilee

Tuesday March 29th 2011

On their first full day in the Galilee area, some of the Connor pilgrims climbed Mount Tabor by taxi to visit the Basilica of the Transfiguration.

This was a place of peace and serenity, and the pilgrims were able to enjoy the magnificent views over the plain of Armageddon.

A visit to Cana, scene of Jesus’s first miracle, was also on the itinerary, and the pilgrims lunched at St Margaret’s Guest House in Nazereth.

They visited Nazareth village, a reconstruction of 1st century Galilean life, where they got a feel for the Nazareth of Jesus’s day, and also called at the large and impressive St Gabriel’s Church (Mary’s Well), the Synagogue Church and the Basilica of the Annunciation where the Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary.
