Renovations complete at All Saints’ Craigyhill

All Saints’ member Sally Rankin rides tries out the new hall ramp accompanied by friends from the congregation.Major renovations have taken place at All Saints' Parish Church, Craigyhill, Larne.

The church hall has had a complete facelift and the building is now accessible to all, as the refurbishment includes the addition of a new toilet and access ramp for disabled users or children's pushchairs. The interior has been repainted and the kitchen enlarged so it can easily cater for parties and functions.

The Rev Roger Thompson, rector of St Patrick's with All Saints', is keen to encourage anyone interested in hiring the hall, whether for a party or to run a class or a club, to come forward and get in contact to book a slot.  He is also keen that members of the parish attend the Annual Easter Vestry on Thursday May 12 at 7.30pm in All Saints’ Church to discuss how the facility can best be put to use.  An update on parish finances will also be given at this meeting.

Roger said: "We are delighted with our new look hall and look forward to seeing it being used by groups from all sections of our community. It will be great to have new life breathed into the hall through classes and clubs or parties and functions for all age groups.  This development is a turning point for us as we strive to support local residents and hopefully draw in new members.”

The refurbishment was paid for with the help of a generous grant from the International Fund for Ireland administered by the Rural Development Council as part of the ‘Maximising Community Space Crossing Borders Programme.’

The rector added: "Our thanks also go to the building contractor Piperhill Construction Limited who made a great job of the refurbishment and finished on schedule."

Anyone interested in using the Hall should contact Roger Thompson on 028 2858 3220 or email rqtfi@btinternet.com
