Conference on childhood bereavement
Cruse Bereavement Care is holding a conference in September on the topic of childhood bereavement.
The ‘Journey into Hope’ conference is particularly aimed at anyone working with children at home, school, church, youth club or a care setting.
Participants will have the chance to hear from young people themselves about childhood bereavement. They will learn practical tools and resources to help bereaved children and young people, and will work with parents whose children have experienced the trauma of loss.
The conference will also be of interest to anyone concerned about suicide prevention.
One of the two speakers is Desney Cromey, co-founder of Treetops Child Bereavement Group and NI Child Bereavement Network. Desney is well known within the Diocese of Connor, having recently retired from Connor’s Pastoral Support for Clergy team and from the Continuing Education in Ministry group.
The other speaker is Conor McCafferty, Co-Director of Zest Counselling Services.
