Connor Diocesan Training Council is hosting a number of training courses which get underway in the next few weeks.
Course details are as follows
Pastoral Care – begins Tuesday September 13
Following a request from Ballinderry Parish we are once again running the most successful course in Connor Diocese. Church Army staff provide a seven evening session introduces the key themes of pastoral visiting.
Equip with confidence – begins Thursday September 22
Building on last year’s success we are running another Equip course. This time the emphasis will be on being confident in your faith and sharing that faith. Once again Belfast Bible College are supplying the speakers and it promises to be a valuable course for anyone in ministry.
Youth Training Course – begins Monday September 26
This is another opportunity for youth leaders (18+) to undertake the Level 2 qualification in youth work. Once again joint with Down and Dromore but held in Lisburn Cathedral.
Children’s Ministry Course – begins Saturday October 15
Base on the CORE training material, previously used in Connor Diocese, this new course also includes an opportunity to look at new resources and learning materials. Please note places are limited.
Children’s Ministry Evenings
Diocesan Training Co–ordinator Peter Hamill will be running a series of evenings in October and November for Children’s Ministry leaders. The plan is to run one in each rural deanery. Subjects involved will be ‘who am I?’, ‘making links’, and ‘resources’.
James Lawrence – Tuesday November 1
Following a very successful seminar with James Lawrence (CPAS), we have invited him back on Tuesday November 1 to speak on ‘Changing culture in a parish’ – further details will be available nearer the time.
