Building Blocks children’s ministry conferences

Friday September 9th 2011

Building Blocks, the annual children’s ministry conferences, take place in Belfast on November 12 and in Dublin on November 19.

Building Blocks aims to support those working with children in their local church, community or school, and to encourage others to be involved in this vital ministry.

The conferences are organised by children’s ministry leaders from a broad spectrum of Christian churches and organisations throughout Ireland.

Keynote speaker for 2011 is Nick Harding, Children’s Ministry Adviser for the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham. He is well known in Connor as he is helping implement the recent Children’s Ministry strategy in the diocese.

A wide range of seminars include: Beginning to teach, Reaching out beyond Sunday School, Doing Drama, Giving a talk to children, Making and using puppets, Leading small groups, Worship for kids and much more.

The Belfast Conference will take place at Orangefield Presbyterian Church, Castlereagh Road, Belfast, and costs £25. The Dublin Conference is being held in All Hallows College, Drumcondra, Dublin 9, and costs €35.

This conference is also run in conjunction with the new Church of Ireland Children’s Ministry Course. The course will run from October to April, one Saturday each month in both Lisburn and Dublin. The cost of the course includes attendance at Building Blocks.
