Tuesday February 21st 2012

Bishop Alan Abernethy with his book 'Shadows on the Journey,' which forms the topic of his lunchtime lecture on March 6.The Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev Alan Abernethy, is the guest speaker at the next lunchtime lecture in St Bartholomew’s, Stranmillis, Belfast.

The lecture, on Tuesday March 6, gets underway at 1.10pm, and Bishop Abernethy’s subject is ‘Shadows on the Journey.’

The Bishop will revisit some of the themes in his recently published book by the same title. In this he recounts some of the shadows that have accompanied him on his own journey of faith. This enables the Bishop to give a frank appraisal of some of the challenges, difficulties and opportunities that face the modern church.

His passion for mission is evident, and St Bartholomew’s rector the Rev Ron Elsdon expects that this will enthuse all the members of the audience.

Following the lecture there will be time for questions. Light refreshments will also be available.
