Holy Week Discussion Forum at St Mark’s, Ballymacash

St Mark’s Church,Ballymacash Road,Lisburn, hosts a Holy Week Discussion Forum on Tuesday April 3.

Beginning at 8pm, Making Connections with the Community is a discussion forum on putting faith into practice.

The Chairman is the Rev Canon George Irwin,rector of Ballymacash, and the panel comprises: Mr Paul Given, MLA, Chairman of the Justice Committee in the NI Assembly; Mr Seamus Close, OBE, Political Commentator; Mr Geoffrey Cherry, Principal of Pond Park Primary School; and Mrs Moira Thom,President of the Mothers’ Union, Diocese of Connor

Questions are as follows:

1.How would you reform the education system in order to benefit children of ALL abilities?

2.How could the resources of the Health Service be more effectively used?

3.Families are the building blocks of society. What needs to be done to make them stronger?

4.Does the media have too much power?

After the members of the Panel have had an opportunity to respond to each question the audience will be invited to make comments and ask supplementary questions.
