The Rev Mark Niblock will be introduced as Priest in Charge of St Comgall’s, Rathcoole, at a service on Tuesday May 8.
Mark, 34, has been curate assistant in Agherton Parish, Portstewart, since his ordination in June 2008.
Married to Cherry and father to Jason, aged two, Mark is a native of Bangor and is a former student of Bangor Grammar School. He read Theology at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, and after graduation worked for James Brown and Sons Funeral Directors from 1999 to 2006.
Before he was ordained, Mark studied for a Masters degree in Christian Spirituality at Milltown Institute, Dublin.
He said he was looking forward to his work in Rathcoole. “It is going to be a challenge and a very different experience,” he said. “We enjoyed our time in Agherton and we are hoping to integrate into the parish family in Rathcoole and work with them to expand the Kingdom of God.”
Mark will be introduced as Priest in Charge by the Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev Alan Abernethy. The service begins at 8pm.
