Dr Elaine Storkey President of Tearfund, is the speaker at the annual Queen’s University Theological Lectures hosted by the Church of Ireland on April 22 and 23.
Dr Storkey will also attend a fundraising lunch at The Hub Cafe at the Church of Ireland Chaplaincy on Tuesday April 23 between 12–2pm.
The lecture promises to be two evenings of thought provoking and engaging insights as Dr Storkey, an author, theologian, broadcaster, as well as Tearfund President, asks what it means to be ‘living in a material world.’
What does it mean for life, economics, and ethics to be founded on secular and material assumptions? What does the Christian faith have to say, and indeed offer, that is any more coherent for the 21st century world…
These annual Theological Lectures are a highlight of both the Church and Campus calendar alike.
Among those attending on the Monday evening are the Vice–Chancellor of Queen’s University, Sir Peter Gregson, along with the Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev Alan Abernethy.
The lectures get underway at 6pm each evening in the Geography Building, Queen’s University Belfast, opposite The Hub on Elmwood Avenue.
