Ionian String Quartet draws the crowds to St Patrick’s, Cairncastle

Tuesday September 17th 2013

Ionian String Quartet at St Patrick's, Cairncastle.St Patrick’s Parish Church at Cairncastle rocked to the beautiful sounds of the Ionian String Quartet on the evening of Friday September 6.

The idea for this musical evening came from church warden Allan Jones, and as a result the Antrim air was filled with the enchanting sounds of Martin Surginor and his fellow musicians with tunes ranging from Pachelbel’s Canon to the Beatles’ Eleanor Rigby.

A picnic supper completed the atmosphere of a local night at the Proms!

The event was planned to bring all sections of the community into the beautiful 17th century church and a wide number of people of all ages enjoyed a very pleasant evening of fellowship.

The occasion was the first of a series of events which are planned at the church over the coming year. Thanks to all those who attended the musical evening making it such a success.
