Hong Kong Archbishop and Dean visit Church of Ireland

Photo Paul Harron.The Archbishop of Hong Kong, the Most Rev Dr Paul Kwong, and the Dean of Hong Kong, the Very Rev Matthias Der, visited St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast, on October 18.

This was part of an official visit to the Church of Ireland which included time in Dublin and a visit to the Parish of Carnalea.

The guests joined the Dean of Belfast, the Very Rev John Mann, and the Bishop of Clogher, The Rt Rev John McDowell at St Anne’s for a lunchtime Communion Service.

Photo: Paul Harron.This was followed by a lunch hosted by the Bishop of Clogher with the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, The Rt Hon Theresa Villiers, MP, and a visit to The Dock in the Titanic Quarter in the afternoon.

The Archbishop’s visit to Northern Ireland concluded with a visit to Armagh on Friday evening where he toured the Church of Ireland Cathedral and Armagh Public Library and was met by the Archbishop of Armagh and the Dean of Armagh.
