Christ Church Parish, Lisburn, is hosting two lunchtime concerts this year as part of its annual Music in May celebration.
The first concert, on Tuesday May 20 features a colourful programme given by the 85–strong choir of Pond Park Primary School, Lisburn. This award–winning choir have performed in prestigious venues including Belfast’s Grand Opera House and for this concert they will be accompanied by Mr Geoffrey Cherry. Expect songs from the shows and a range of sacred favourites.
On Tuesday 27 May Christ Church Parish will welcome one of Northern Ireland’s finest violinists, Alan McClure, to perform a selection of violin classics – everything from The Ashokan Farewell to his dazzling arrangements of hymn tunes, including Amazing Grace. Alan is no stranger to Christ Church and on this occasion he will be accompanied by Elizabeth Bicker.
The concerts take place in Christ Church at 1.15pm each Tuesday and last approximately 30 minutes. Admission is free although retiring donations would be gratefully appreciated.
The Christ Church choir will be serving lunch from 12.15pm on the day of each concert, with salads, desserts and refreshments available for £6: A great chance to enjoy a time of fellowship before a musical treat!
