‘Pink’ parishes provides refreshments for Giro spectators

Wednesday May 14th 2014

It may have been wet on Saturday May 10, but the parishioners of Templepatrick and Donegore were in the pink to cheer the Giro d’Italia past St Patrick’s Church.

Pink clothing, pink bunting and a pink bicycle all set the mood and with free tea, coffee and all manner of pink confectionery the parish was ready to give the cyclists a good cheer as they whizzed past.

Some of the younger members enjoyed the road being closed and were able to hold their own cycle race up the Antrim Road before the professionals arrived. The refreshments proved to be a great hit with the spectators who came down to the village to watch the race.
