Lisburn Cathedral hosts final Diocesan Pentecost Service

Bishop Alan Abernety, Archdeacon Stephen McBride and Canon Sam Wright at the Lisburn Pentecost Service.Lisburn Cathedral hosted the last of three Connor Diocesan Services for Pentecost on Thursday May 22. Lisburn is in the Archdeaconry of Connor.

A special service was organised for each of Connor’s archdeaconries. The first was held in St Patrick’s, Jordanstown, (Archdeaconry of Belfast) on May 14, the second took place in St Patrick’s, Ballymena, (Archdeaconry of Dalriada) on May 20. Preacher at all services was the Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev Alan Abernethy.

Every year during Lent Bishop Alan runs a series of seminars across the diocese, and this year the theme was Discipleship and Ministry.

Bishop Alan said the three special Pentecost Services were a follow up to the Lent courses and Renewal of Baptismal vows.
