The competition is open to all children – just bring your home–made creation along to the Church in the Linn Road by 2pm on Saturday – judging begins at 2.30pm. If you can’t bake, you can ice a pre–made cupcake at the cake–decorating stall and give it to someone as a gift.

The Cupcake challenge is just part of the attractions at the annual Parish Fete at the Linn Road, Larne Church from 1–4pm. Other features include a performance from the Magheramorne Silver Band plus a bouncy castle, target football competition [with a World Cup Brazil football to win], craft stalls, face–painting, teas and coffees.

In addition there is a high quality raffle with some really great prizes: a two–night stay at the Ballygally Holiday Apartments, a £100 Russell’s Shop 4 You voucher, an original painting by local artist & a carvery meal for two at the recently re–furbished Ballygally Castle Hotel.

Other popular stalls include the bar–b–q (kindly loaned by Marty McToal), tombola, toys, cakes, and plants (with stock donated by Inver Garden Centre).

Roger Thompson (Rector of St Patrick’s, Cairncastle with All Saints’, Craigyhill) commented: “I’m really excited about this year’s Fete and want to thank all our sponsors for supporting us so generously.”
